Portschach Things to Do
Music FestivalsPortschach has numerous music events running all summer and is the musical mecca of Lake Worthersee. The summer months pay tribute to Johannes Brahms and in mid-June there is a 5-day music festival called International Brahms Days. In August there is a week-long music competition for violin, piano and chamber music. The music season draws to a close in early September with another week long event known as the Johannes Brahms Festival. Throughout the summer months there are many summer concerts held, from piano recitals to operetta music and more. TennisFor those keen for a spot of tennis, the Wertz tennis centre is a great place to get active on your lakes and mountains holiday in Portschach. The tennis centre hosts a number of tournaments in the summer months, great for those after a competitive game, or spectators happy to watch from the side-lines and soak in the sun. Water SportsPortschach has a dock for the lakes boat service, an incredible way to explore the lake whilst you relax on your holiday. The water heats up to between 25-27C in the summer months, providing perfect conditions to explore the lake. There are a variety of water sports on offer in spring and summer; swimming, sailing, boating, parasailing, and water skiing are only a taste of the many activities for you to try whilst soaking in the warm atmosphere of Lake Worthersee. CyclingThere are many cycle routes available from Portschach, taking you around the lake and its surrounding areas. Bicycles are available for hire in spring and summer. The trails are well marked and provide a great way to soak in the scenery of the lake, with the luxury of stopping for a quick dip in tranquil blue waters when you need to cool down. Taking a bicycle trip around the lake is a great family day trip, with plenty of opportunities to stop, relax and absorb the natural beauty of Lake Worthersee.Email this to a friendClick here to send this page to a friendExtrasCar hire
