Weather in Velden- Long summer daysVelden in Austria’s Carinthia province has a sunny Alpine climate and truly magnificent scenery. With two distinct seasons, summer here in Velden is long, sunny and filled with warm lake water, just perfect for relaxing and unwinding on your lakes and mountains holiday. The summer months experience more daylight hours than average, with approximately 15-16 hours of daylight from May to July; this gradually drops to 9 hours of daylight in the colder winter months. Evenings do get rather cold in the winter months with lows reaching -7C in January, slowly creeping up to 3C by March. This allows for fun in the sun without being sticky or sweaty. The summer months are generally wetter than the winter months, but this very low humidity allows for the rain to fall and be evaporated away almost instantly.
